But what if it’s a hoax?
It is a general fact that many people are into making money online. And some people take that opportunity to take advantage of others.
How will you know if an online offer is only a scam or a hoax?
Before that, one must familiarize himself with the different ways to make money online in order to understand how some people try to take advantage of them.
The most popular way of making money online is called the PTC or Paid to click. A person gets paid for clicking ads. Advertisements are in the form of websites that are linked from a list of available ads. There is a limit to how many ads you can click per day.
Although this seems to be the simplest way to earn money, it is also the simplest way too fool people. There are many PTC sites which do not pay. It is very disappointing to find out that all of your efforts of clicking the ads are fruitless.
Hence, before starting to click ads, ask other people if the PTC site does pay. There are many forums which provide good reviews of PTC sites. This is the best way to prevent being fooled by fake PTC sites.
Another method is through being an affiliate in a program. Here, one earns money through taking part in a program. If the web site asks money from you, then it is most likely a scam!
But there are several sites which do asks people to pay but are legitimate.
Be careful when entering your personal details especially your credit card number. They might hack into your credit card and use it without your consent. When paying using a credit card, be sure that a secure medium is used.
In affiliate marketing, never be afraid to ask questions to the people who are running the program. Sometimes, unscrupulous individuals would pretend to be a part of a well known affiliate marketing program while in fact, they’re not!
If the person does not answer immediately, he is most likely just trying to fool you.
Aside from answering promptly, he should be able to give you the contact details of the company. And his answers should be accurate.
Blogging is one of the popular hobbies of many teenagers. But blogging can also be a good source of income – even for hackers. If you are offered money by a company to link their website to your blog, don’t give them a yes immediately. Of course, you would not want a great opportunity to slip by. But you would not want to be fooled, do you?
Some of these people are expert hackers. They would hack into your computer’s database and get important details for their personal interest. In order to prevent this, you must not expose your personal information in your blog account to the public. This way, potential hackers would find a hard time trying to take advantage of you.
